Mirabegron is chemically described as 2-(2-Amino-1,3-thiazol-4-yl)-N-[4-(2-{[(2R)-2-hydroxy-2-phenylethyl]amino} ethyl)phenyl]acetamide. It's molecular formula C21H24N4O2S and molecular weight is 396.51 g/mol.
Mirabegron is approved by the United States and the European Union for medical usage in 2012. By 2020, Mirabegron was the 160th most commonly prescribed medication in the United States, with more than 3 million prescriptions. Mirabegron belongs to class of medications called beta-3 adrenergic agonists. It is available as a generic medication. Mirabegron is available as Myrbetriq and Myrbetriq granules.
Mirabegron is a medication which is used to treat overactive bladder. Periodically, Solifenacin (Vesicare) which is an alternative medicine used together with mirabegron. It is used in children to treat (NDO) Neurogenic Detrusor Overactivity, which is nerve damage due to conditions like Multiple Sclerosis or Spinal injury.
Mirabegron granules are used in children at least 3 years old who also weighs 35 kilograms. For adult dosage, 25mg orally once daily. Myrbetriq and oxybutynin is an alternative medications treating overactive bladder.
Mirabegron, extreme dosage leads to hives (urticaria), difficulty breathing, blurred vision, pain or burning sensation during urination and severe headache. Some common side effects includes dry mouth, fast heartbeats, constipation, increased blood pressure.
