Tacrolimus also known as Immunosuppressants.It is commonly used for prevention of rejected transplanted organs. Primarily used to prevent the body's immune system from attacking and rejecting a transplanted organ, such as a kidney, liver, or heart. Tacrolimus solution, is sometimes prescribed for dry eye maladies in the eyes of domestic cats, dogs & horses. It's been studied for use in human eyes.
Mechanisms:-
It works by inhibiting the activity of certain immune cells called T lymphocytes. T lymphocytes are involved in the immune response and can target and destroy transplanted organs as if they were foreign invaders. Common side effects includes high blood pressure,tremors.
